Western Canada · A Catholic Movement

FEAR NOT
THE PUBLIC
SQUARE.

Catholics across Western Canada are rising to represent the Faith where it matters most — in the halls of power, at the ballot box, and in the heart of the community.

Our Mission

THE FAITH
DEMANDS
A WITNESS.

For too long, faithful Catholics in Western Canada have been told to keep their beliefs private — to leave their convictions at the church door. Prairie Catholic exists to end that silence.

We are a movement of ordinary Catholics — farmers, teachers, healthcare workers, parents, and professionals — who believe that the truths of the Faith are not just for Sunday. They are for the school board meeting. The legislative hearing. The town hall. The public square.

Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and inspired by the courage of the saints, we equip, organize, and mobilize the faithful to be a visible, articulate, and fearless presence in the political life of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."

— Galatians 6:9

Why Attend the UCP AGM

VOTE FOR
HUMAN DIGNITY.

At this year's AGM, members vote directly on policy — and four proposals will decide where Alberta stands on the dignity of human life. Three deserve your vote. One deserves your defeat.

THE GOOD 3.

Vote Yes
WG-2026-P-19

Abortion Funding

This proposal would end public funding for second- and third-trimester abortions, except where a physician determines that the mother's physical life is at serious risk and cannot otherwise be protected.

WG-2026-P-18

Protecting Human Life from Conception

This proposal would recognize the inherent dignity and value of every human life, including the unborn, and affirm society's responsibility to protect and support human life from conception until natural death.

WG-2026-P-13

Medical Care for Infants Born Alive

This proposal would require every infant born alive in Alberta to receive an immediate medical assessment and medically necessary care, regardless of the circumstances of the child's birth.

THE BAD ONE.

Vote No
WG-2026-P-12

IVF

This proposal supports tax dollars being spent on in vitro fertilization. In vitro fertilization, as it is currently practiced, causes thousands of pre-born children to perish or to be put in cold storage indefinitely. It is a human rights disaster that should not be paid for by tax dollars.

UCP AGM 2026 — Stand With Us in Calgary

The United Conservative Party's Annual General Meeting is the largest gathering of conservatives in Alberta — and Prairie Catholic is mobilizing a delegation of faithful Catholics to be there. November 27–29 at the BMO Centre in Calgary. Hear Premier Danielle Smith live, vote on party policy, elect the provincial board, and take part in campaign training on Sunday. This is where policy is shaped and leaders are chosen — and the faithful need a seat at that table. WHY CATHOLICS MUST ENGAGE: Catholic Social Teaching calls every member of the faithful to take an active part in the political life of the community. The Catechism (§1913–1915) teaches that "participation" is the voluntary and generous engagement of the individual in the interchange of duties and rights, and that citizens should take an active part in public life — "as far as possible." Pope St. John XXIII in Pacem in Terris urged Catholics to "take an active part in public life" and to contribute to the common good. Pope St. John Paul II repeatedly taught that the lay faithful have a vocation to shape the temporal order with the light of the Gospel. To abstain from the public square is to abandon the field — and our neighbours — to those who do not share our vision of the human person. This AGM is one of the most consequential moments in Alberta's political year. Show up. Vote. Be seen. Be the Catholic presence in the room. STRONG CALL TO ACTION: We are offering FULL SPONSORSHIPS to anyone interested in attending. If cost is the only thing standing between you and Calgary this November, reach out — Prairie Catholic will cover your registration so you can stand with us. The Founder

VICTOR
CARPAY.

Edmonton, Alberta · Veteran Catholic Activist

A lifelong Albertan, Victor Carpay has spent his career at the intersection of faith, business, and political action. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Catholic Studies from Newman Theological College in Edmonton, grounding his public work in a deep formation of the mind and the soul.

He is passionate about renewing culture through faith and reason — and convinced that the faithful of Western Canada can no longer afford to be silent in the public square. Prairie Catholic is his answer to that conviction: a movement to equip, organize, and mobilize Catholics to stand fearlessly for the truth. Victor works for the Gregory the Great Institute, a non-profit in Edmonton, Alberta dedicated to forming leaders to renew culture.

The prairies have always been a place where people of faith built something from nothing. It's time we brought that same courage back to the public square.

— Victor Carpay

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
